About

The Tragically Hip Starving Artist aims to inspire creativity and adventure in everyday aspects of life. From radical fashion statements, to tutorials and DIYs that will leave you telling your friends “Thanks, I made it.” the THSA has you covered. Serving the stylish, daring, and of course, tragically hip reader since 2015, the THSA was started by me, Madisen Baldwin with the goal of it becoming a lifestyle blog, set apart from others by adding the elements of quirk and edge into the equation. Here, you can find posts about all things knitting, gardening, sustainability, herbalism, music, fashion inspiration, and my journey into figuring out how to feed myself (cooking). From a young age, I was always fascinated with design and craft.  My aunt taught me to sew when I was in the fourth grade, I got really into baking as a freshman in high school, I taught myself how to crochet and knit when I was a junior, and when I moved to college, I got in touch with nature and gardening through my studies.  I now attend Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and am majoring in Agricultural and Environmental Plant Sciences. I love earth-tones, funky music, flavorful coffee, witches, and luxurious yarn and I want to share with you what inspires me. Follow me on Pinterest and keep up with the THSA for your fix of creativity and style!
